Beethoven @ Bad Honnef tanzt

Organiser
“Beethoven4” is a project with professional dance and music, which also establishes a connection to cultural education. The objective is to network and connect children and youths at four schools with trained adult dancers and musicians. The contextual discourse focuses on the late string quartets of Beethoven. The performance, together with a string quartet and young DJ, adds the theme of “classic and modern”. The eccentricity and musical modernity of the late string quartets make them extraordinary for the time and their expressiveness makes them well suited as a pivot between progressive modern and classical music. Beethoven’s works are the starting point for developing the pieces and choreographic material together.
The four classes from four Bad Honnef schools, of different school types and age groups, are selected and receive four hours of dance lessons a week as a class over a period of four months. The result of the collaboration with the choreographer, professional dancers, string quartet and DJ is a unique, enthralling evening of dance at an exciting venue: a tent on Bad Honnef’s beautiful “island”. The multiple-showing dance performance will be the opening event of the Bad Honnef Beethoven Festival Week.
