Oh Ludwig

Starting in mid-June at the Künstlerforum Bonn, the kunstgruppe plan B will devote itself to Beethoven's work with the exhibition "Oh Ludwig", which has been planned for a year and realized on its own initiative, and will present intelligent, innovative as well as critical references to his musical oeuvre and their own works. The artists, most of whom live in our region, deal with their chosen theme in a very associative manner, linking Beethoven's birthday anniversary with current issues.

A wide variety of techniques and materials become visible in the works shown in the exhibition: the well-known "banana sprayer" Thomas Baumgärtel shows, among other things, a striking, sprayed portrait of Beethoven. In his installation Joseph Schnorrenberg reminds us of the Bonn-born piano virtuoso Karlrobert Kreiten, who was murdered by the National Socialists. Rainer Maria Jaenicke has created material collages "Beethoven for five-year-olds".

Besides the artists Siegfried B. Collas, Rainer Maria Jaenicke, Harald Klemm, Jaume Rocamora, Alfred Schädlich, Joseph Schnorrenberg, Alex Studthoff, Ulf Umlauf and Hans-Gerd Weise, Thomas Baumgärtel and Demeco & Pasquale will be exhibiting as guests.
