Organiser
An absolute favourite piece is the Serenade for many tenors. Britten wrote it for his partner Peter Pears. English poems from several centuries form a cycle here, whose emotional situations Britten captures with great sensitivity and a haunting musical language. With Julian Prégardien, who certainly already experienced Britten's passion for his father Christoph, and Stefan Dohr, the principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic, world-class soloists are guests. The very classical 8th symphony by Beethoven will conclude the concert, while Mozart's very first symphony will be at the beginning.
