The Beethoven Anniversary Year will be celebrated with a multitude of events from 16 December 2019 till September 2021.

By means of an aesthetic examination and a new setting of Schiller's "An die Freude" in Arabic and German, the composer Saad Thamir has made it his goal to create a new symbiotic musical structure consisting of Arabic and Western musical culture. Since the Arabic aesthetic principle is most clearly recognizable in calligraphy, the calligrapher Shahid Alam will design the poem on a canvas with Arabic script on the concert evening.
